This is a truly unique offering that has been years in the making. Last Spring was the first time that I offered this course and I have added so much more to the program since then. It was such a beautiful experience to work with such an amazing group of women and I am really looking forward to the new class that is forming already for next year.

This course is a special opportunity to really immerse yourself in the magical world of plant healing, earth medicine and embodied wisdom.

The Herbalism Course for Women 2023 is officially Open for Enrollment!!

~ Classes begin January 21st! ~

Come deepen your relationship with the plants, your body and the Earth.

Delve into the mysteries of your body wisdom and the plant spirits that will guide you on our way.

We will be journeying into the world of our inner body systems, our ancestral bloodlines like rivers of wisdom that flow through us, and this unique healing relationship with beings of the plant world - the flowers, the trees, the herbs, the mushrooms and the elemental beings. We will get to know our local plant communities and gardens intimately through practices of ritual, dreams, vision, sensory awareness and hands-on crafting with the herbs.

This course is about discovering for oneself the path of healing, which includes learning to listen to the body, to our innate intuitive knowing, as well as opening to the healing presence and wisdom of the plants, who offer up their beauty and grace to us so willingly.

Join us on a refreshing walk through the gardens, exploring and getting to know some of the varied plants that are growing at the Arboretum. We will discuss traditional and folkloric uses of herbs from the culinary and functional to the magical and even spiritual. The fall season is a beautiful time of year to explore the gardens as the plants are winding down from the intense heat of the summer. The days are shortening and there is a kind of quiet mystique that is in the air. Human beings and plants have evolved alongside each other and our lives are very much intertwined with theirs, we literally could not exist without them. Come discover the fascinating cultural relationships of humans and plants, both historically and in current times, and be inspired to nurture your own unique relationship with them.

After the rain…

I don’t know about y’all, but I feel like I have come back from the underworld. The rains bring life to the garden and myself in a way I cannot fully understand. The long dry months leave me feeling like a fish on land. We are much more like plants and like the other beings of this earth than we realize.

Life needs water and the plants, even in a more arid climate like ours, can only go so long without it before drying up.

May the gracious rains return again and again.

After the rain…

I don’t know about y’all, but I feel like I have come back from the underworld. The rains bring life to the garden and myself in a way I cannot fully understand. The long dry months leave me feeling like a fish on land. We are much more like plants and like the other beings of this earth than we realize.

Life needs water and the plants, even in a more arid climate like ours, can only go so long without it before drying up.

May the gracious rains return again and again.

My new self-care series begins this Sunday!!

Join me for this three-part series exploring the transition of fall into winter, we will meet in the garden to relax and nurture ourselves with plants, rituals and self-care practices.

This workshop series will give you practical skills and plant medicine knowledge to support your body through the unique challenges of the season.

We will explore the topics of:

* building resilience
* supporting immunity
* encouraging relaxation and joy

Each session focuses on a different aspect of the body and self-care including self-massage with botanical oils, nourishing foods for the body, healing herbal baths and steams.
